Origins of Fire and Storm
From the storm-lashed walls of Storm’s End and the ancient dragonfire of Valyria was born a child who would change the destiny of Westeros. Lord Duncan Baratheon, eldest brother to Robert, Stannis, and Renly, wed Princess Rhaenyra Daeragon, a Valyrian princess who had fled Essos with her family’s treasures — among them, dragon eggs said to descend from the blood of Old Valyria itself.
Their union birthed five children, later sung of as the Stormborn Five:

It was said the Seven smiled on Duncan and Rhaenyra, for never since the days of Old Valyria had one family commanded such a host of dragons.
The Rise of Richard and Caesarion
From the moment his dragon hatched, Richard was set apart. Caesarion emerged golden and burning with a light that seemed unnatural. As the years passed, the beast grew vast — larger than Balerion the Black Dread himself. By the time Richard took Caesarion to war, the dragon’s wingspan could blot out a castle, his fire could melt stone, and his roar could send armies fleeing before battle was joined.
Richard himself was no less formidable. He wielded a great warhammer like his uncle Robert, yet tempered with the precision of a knight and the discipline of a commander. But where Robert had been a warrior alone, Richard was also a master of words, law, and vision.
He fought not only with hammer and flame, but also with strategy and diplomacy. Lords who opposed him found themselves undone at council tables as surely as on battlefields.
Storm and Fire United
To cement his rule, Richard wed Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, last scion of the royal line. Their marriage was hailed as the union of stag and dragon, of storm and fire. Together they forged a dynasty that blended the raw might of House Baratheon with the ancient majesty of House Targaryen.
Daenerys was more than consort; she was his equal, his Empress. Her compassion balanced his iron will, and her dragons flew beside Caesarion as symbols of their shared destiny.
The Iron Throne and the Empire
With Caesarion above him and his siblings beside him, Richard marched on King’s Landing. The city did not burn, for it bent the knee before the gates could fall. Richard was crowned:
King Richard of House Baratheon, First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Dragonlord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm.
Yet Richard’s ambition did not end with kingship. With Randall as his Hand and later Lord Chancellor of Westeros, Richard declared the founding of a new order: the Empire of Westeros, uniting all realms under one banner. He ruled not merely as king but as Emperor Richard I, the Storm Dragon Emperor.
The Stormborn Five in Service

Randall, trusted above all, was Richard’s Hand, master of diplomacy, and later Lord Chancellor of Westeros. His dragon, Cerabus, defended the Stormlands.

Mary, radiant and gracious, ruled the court as a queen of courtesy, her alliances securing peace as surely as Richard’s hammer.

Rose, fierce and loyal, fought beside her twin in countless battles, her dragon Rhaenyr swift as lightning.

Luke, bold and reckless, became master of the Narrow Sea with Laeraxas, scourge of pirates and raiders.
Together, the five siblings became living legends — a dynasty of storm and fire.
The Children of Storm and Fire
Richard and Daenerys’s union blessed them with eight children, each carrying both Baratheon storm and Targaryen fire in their veins:

Prince Daemon Baratheon – Prince of Dragonstone, a warrior-scholar destined to inherit the Iron Throne.

Princess Elaena Baratheon – Daemon’s twin, beautiful and cunning, called “the Silver Stag.”

Prince Aegor Baratheon – bold and martial, ever at his father’s side in campaigns.

Princess Rhaella Baratheon – named for Daenerys’s mother, beloved of the smallfolk.

Prince Rhaegon Baratheon – fierce and fiery, with a temper to rival his dragon’s flame.

Prince Duncarys “Duncan” Baratheon – named for Richard’s father, honourable and steady.

Princess Rhaenrya Baratheon – named for Richard’s mother, clever and politically sharp.

Princess Alysanne Baratheon – Rhaenrya’s twin, gentle but wise, beloved by the Faith.
These eight children became known as the Dragon Princes and Princesses of the Empire, heralding a new age where dragons once again filled the skies of Westeros.
Legacy of the Storm Dragon Emperor
The reign of Richard and Daenerys was remembered as the Golden Age of the Seven Kingdoms. Wars ceased, trade flourished, and the realm prospered under the rule of an emperor who wielded both storm and fire.
House Baratheon, once a rising house of stormlords, became the greatest dynasty in Westeros, surpassing even the Targaryens of old. And at the heart of it all was Richard Baratheon, rider of Caesarion the Golden Dreadlord, warrior, politician, dragonlord, and the first Emperor of Westeros.
His name lived forever in song: The Storm Dragon Emperor.
