Origins and Legacy
House Daeragon is among the oldest and most powerful of the Valyrian Dragonlord Houses, tracing its lineage back over Ten thousand years. Once the Royal House of the Valyrian Kingdom, they reigned supreme until the Freeholder uprising deposed them. After the rise of the Valyrian Freehold, the Daeragons were diminished in title but not in might, becoming one of the Forty Dragonlord Families who wielded dragons, sorcery, and vast wealth to dominate half the known world.
Where other houses waned or vanished with the Doom, House Daeragon endured, escaping to their southern colony of Draegonopolis (once Daeragon’s Landing) on the continent of Sothoryos during the Great Migration, a century before the Doom. From there they ruled as the Imperial Dynasty of Valyria-in-Exile, their dominion stretching across much of southern Sothoryos.
